Column Trust Limited - An indigenous company has an outsourcing/Training Division that specializes in the provision and management of contract staff in all categories as well as the selection and placement of temporary staff for corporate organizations (including The Banks, Oil and Gas, services Telecoms, Manufacturing, Construction & Allied Industry, Hospitals Healthcare Companies and Multilateral Organizations).

Our Client, an International Construction Company is looking for the services of qualified individuals to work at their Lagos project:

Job Title: Senior Purchaser

Location: Lagos
Reporting to: Local Purchasing Manager

Job Description

• Executing local purchasing activities for materials in order to provide effective and efficient procurement services to meet the needs of the company.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Local purchasing activities, ensuring that all work within a specific area of purchasing activity are carried out in an efficient and procedurally compliant manner.
• Review of Material requisitions received for completeness of specifications, segregation into fixed assets, consumables, spares, project materials.
• Issue RFQ to local market/vendors for soliciting the bids, review of bids for technical and commercial suitability, preparation of comparative statement and assisting local purchasing supervisor in finalizing the PO.
• Monitor the expediting system to ensure timely delivery of goods and services by vendors.
• Work closely with colleagues in other material functions in planning and control of materials processes to ensure a fully integrated material department service to users.
• Communicate the requirement of operational procedures and instructions to subordinates and monitor their adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner.
• Coordinating with warehouse supervisor in ensuring delivery of materials and documents, and coordinating with QC in inspecting the material and ensuring quality documentation.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

Internal:

• Purchasing Manager for guidance and integrating work flows as needed.
• All users in the company to provide them with procurement services.
• Finance and Treasury departments for payments.

External:

• Local vendors for supply of materials and services.
• Local contractors for outsourcing services.

Qualifications/Requirements and Experience

• Minimum High School Certificate.
• 4 years' materials purchasing in a large organization.

Other Requirements:

• Minimum - 30 years old.
• Maximum - 45 years old.
• Physically strong and healthy.
• Does not suffer from vertigo.

Working Condition:

• Can work with less supervision and under pressure.
